Freemasonry offers different things to different people. Whether you are looking to develop yourself as a person, expand your social circle or to give something back to the community, Maeides Stana Lodge can provide a platform to help you achieve your goals.
East Kent Freemasons
Our 6,000 members have always come from all walks of life and meet as equals whatever their faith, ethnic group or position in society. For many this spirit of fellowship is what they value most. Making new friends, helping others, following a family tradition and participating in the ceremonial are also important.
Freemasonry contributed more than £42 million in 2019 as one of the UK’s largest charitable givers. Raising funds largely through voluntary donations we support individual members, local communities and global emergencies. “It’s about the right way to treat our fellow human beings.”
Why Choose Maeides Stana?
Maeides Stana Lodge was established to promote “Stability Ritual” within the Province of East Kent, which is in essence the oldest ritual recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England.
We are a friendly and welcoming Lodge with an active social calendar. We have members of mixed ages from a wide range of occupations. Based in Maidstone, We regularly meet socially and have a number of active golfers (of all standards), plus many football, cricket and rugby fans.
We support a number of national and local charities, as well as the Freemasons own "Teddies for Loving Care" charity
Maeides Stana Lodge
Maeides Stana Lodge prides itself on being a friendly, family orientated and welcoming Lodge, the members of which are drawn from a wide background of trades and professions. The title of the Lodge “Maeides Stana” is the Anglo-Saxon name for Maidstone.
The Lodge has a good mix of experienced and newer Masons and has an active social calendar of both masonic and non-masonic events.
As well as supporting some of the well known national Charities (i.e. Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation), the Lodge has, over the past few years, supported several smaller local charities (eg “Slideaway” and the Heart of Kent Hospice). The Lodge is also active in supporting “Teddies for Loving Care” (TLC) in East Kent.
Since its inception in 1963 lodge membership has stabilised at around 30 members. It is in good health with a steady stream of new members – both Initiates and joining members.
One of the objectives of the Lodge is the promotion of the “Stability Ritual” within the Province of East Kent, which is in essence, the oldest ritual recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England, and Maeides Stana is still the sole Stability Lodge in the Province, and one of only 16 in the country.
